1. What is Business Plan Developer?
====================================

Business Plans are valuable tools for entrepreneurs. They are usually necessary when applying for loans and sometimes when applying for permits and/or licenses. They are also a great way to evaluate and manage your business as it grows, since a good Business Plan includes goals, budgets and ideas. In fact, you may want to set a date to reevaluate your Business Plan yearly.

Each section of the Business Plan Developer requires you to supply information regarding your business. Record the information in the spaces provided, then edit your information and save it to a file from the text editing page and/or print it out. Viola! You have your business's brand new Business Plan! NOTE: All of the questions, including the ones you haven't answered, appear on the text editing page. This is to remind you that it is important to include as much information as possible in your Business Plan.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Information MUST be saved TO A FILE before exiting the program or all information will be lost. REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED in order to save information to a file. You must pay the $7.50 shareware fee and enter the registration code before you will be allowed to save your information to a file. See "Do I need to pay for Business Plan Developer?" below.

AFTER ENTERING REGISTRATION CODE: If you wish to quit and return to your Business Plan later, you can reopen the previously saved file by choosing "Open" under the "File" menu on the text editing page. Information will NOT be reloaded into the individual text boxes after exiting from and returning to the program, but all of the information can be changed on the text editing page when you reload a previously saved file.

9. What is shareware, anyway?
=============================

"Shareware" is a method of software distribution that gives users a chance to try software before buying it. If you try a Shareware program and continue using it, you're expected to pay for it ("register"). Details vary for individual programs - some request registration while others require it; some specify a maximum trial period and then the program expires. If you use Business Plan Developer to create a Business Plan, you are expected to pay the Shareware fee even if you delete the program after using it for this purpose. Registration of Shareware programs entitles users to different things depending on the author and the specific program. Registration can include anything from the simple right to continue using the software to an updated program with printed manual, depending on the author and/or the individual software.

Copyright laws apply to both Shareware and commercial software and the copyright holder retains all rights with a few specific exceptions. Like commercial authors, Shareware authors are generally accomplished programmers and the programs are of comparable quality (in both cases, there are good programs and bad ones). The main difference is in the method of distribution. The Shareware author specifically grants the right to copy and distribute the software, either to everyone or to a specific group, sometimes with certain restrictions. For example, some authors require written permission before a commercial disk vendor may copy their software (see section 7 above).
